Sunday Morning Stretch Sesh with Courtney Jay

Sunday Morning Stretch Sesh with Courtney Jay

We were so lucky to have Courtney Jay with us at the store for a rejuvenating and calming yoga session to kick off our Self Care Sunday series. Afterwards, she did a little shopping - check out some of her picks below.

Courtney is a yoga instructor, health enthusiast, and sustainable fashion advocate. She believes the most powerful way to nurture the planet is to nurture ourselves. Her classes are rooted in spirituality, dance-movement, and astrology.

She supports sustainably-made clothes and products that nourish the body and the earth and strongly believes loving the earth means loving your body, celebrating movement is a spiritual practice, and expanding awareness is an act of compassion. Her aim is to embody that interdependence—to provide the meeting point, to coincide.

Speaking of sustainable brands, Courtney can be seen below in the Compressive High Rise and Paloma Bra by Girlfriend Collective, a brand that prides itself on making ethically conscious active wear. Their leggings and bras are made from recycled polyester (or RPET)  and recycled post-consumer bottles. Not to mention, they look darn cute - Win Win!

While we carry other sustainable brands such as LACAUSA, Neema, and our slow fashion favorite Dazey LA, we all know the most earth friendly thing to do is giving loved pieces a new home - and nothing's more fun than diving into our vintage treasure box (aka a selection of unique and staple pieces). You can find your perfect Levi's denim Jacket, like-new beautifully embroidered kimonos from the 60's, or a badass Work Jumpsuit like Courtney is sporting below!

If you tuned in to our live stretch session or checked out the class on IGTV later on, we hope you enjoyed getting to know Courtney and The Canyon a little more. We are committed to a sustainable and healthy lifestyle and feel so lucky to have Courtney to introduce us to new pathways on our journey to more earth friendly ways of living.

You can find her classes on her YouTubeInstagram, and her website, Coincide, launching fall 2020.
