Our fifth year and best ever! Seriously!

On Thursday, the girls jump in the loaded UHaul and head out the 10 freeway to Indio in the Coachella Valley about 130 miles from Hollywood. After a five hour set up in the Rodeo Market section, they finally head to their VRBO. 

The first day of the festival is mellow but steady and we sell out of a few items. Dean and Shepard come to the rescue bringing restock items. After the market closes at 10, Ella and Daphne hit the after parties.

Saturday is super busy. Around 7:00 The wind starts picking up. We are given sandbags to keep tents from blowing away but at 8:00 the tents are shaking and fixtures are falling. Bad. We’re used to the wind kicking up but by 8:30 with the wind gusting fiercely Goldenvoice shuts down the festival. The Jumbotrons flash bright red emergency evacuation warnings and 30,000 people head for the gates. Journey had to cancel their show, which bummed Cynthia out, so the team heads to Applebee’s to decompress. Somehow, by 10 o’clock, the wind has died down enough for the festival to re-open and a smaller crowd gets to hear Lainie Wilson and Pit Bull.

Sunday began mellow, the calm after the storm, but by end of day, the joint was jumpin'!

It's always good to see old friends, make new ones, and share the music, the buzz and community. A good vibe all around, even with the mini-hurricane.
